Deer Hunting

Another opening weekend of CA deer hunting has come and gone….though we did not get anything it was lots of fun. The first day of hunting we saw very little deer and none of them could be confirmed as bucks. The second day we saw more deer than the first but still none could be confirmed as bucks. Finally, the last day we saw lots of deer and one confirmed buck and the story on that is as follows: While following normal procedures I scared a buck. Not knowing that it was a buck I headed down hill to cut it off and maybe scare it back up hill to the rest of the troop. Upon reaching the spot code named “Big Meadow” I heard a shot ring out up hill. Knowing that it was Tait that shot I yelled, asking him if he hit it. Tait yelled back that he failed to hit it and that it was headed at top speed down hill. Upon combing most of the forest for it we decided to head home. Though its iffy we hope to go back sometime next month.
